Pastor Letter for June 2009
Dear Friends and Members,
As we enter into winter this year let us look back for God’s faithfulness and blessings for us individually and as a whole church. We all are inspired and blessed by our guest speaker Saya David Lah. If we summarize his messages we are reminded to live by the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ and set free from the bondage of sinful life. We Christians need to be ready for the return of Christ which can happen any time. However as your friend and your pastor I’d like to ask you are you putting into practice of what you have heard from the camp and all the Bible studies sessions?. If yes praise the Lord if not yet may I encourage you to put into practice of what you have learnt.
The book of James 1:22-25 says “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But he man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it – he will be blessed in what he does.
According to this verse we are not suppose to be confused between law and grace. This bible verse is saying to us about our faith in God’s words and to obey it and be blessed. Yes God wants us to be blessed in all aspects of life physically, materially, emotionally and of course spiritually.
May I invite you to be blessed and be a blessing to people around you in a practical way. Please come to church prayer times on Sundays morning and once a month Dawn prayer service. Please participate in cell groups, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday to grow into maturity and in the knowledge of the scriptures. Please involve in our church worship services on Sundays 10:00 Am (Burmese Service) and Sunday evening 4:00 PM (English Services). Join prayer teams, praise and worship team, bible studies groups and as we are starting to reach out to the South Granville community please get involve in our evangelism and out reach activities.
Jesus asked Peter three times….Do you love me? And Peter answered yes. Then Jesus said feed my sheep….Look after my sheep. If Jesus asks you today …Do you love me? What would be your answer?.. If you say yes let your yes be put into action and see the blessings for yourself and for people around you. God bless you all and have a blessed winter with health, strength and passion for Jesus.
In Christ
